Get started with Metrickle
Last updated
Metrickle shows where people drop off before they convert, and who they are, including people using accessibility settings. Getting from sign-up to your first data takes a few minutes: create an account, set up a workspace, add an app, install the snippet and add a goal.
Create your account
- Go to the sign-up page and fill in Name, Work email and Password. The password needs at least 10 characters.
- Select Create account.
- Open the email we send you and follow the link to confirm your address. Confirming signs you in.
The link works for 24 hours. If it hasn't arrived after a minute, check your spam or promotions folder, or select Send the email again. If you try to sign in before confirming, Metrickle sends you a new link.
If you were invited to join a teammate's workspace, use the link in your invitation instead. See team and access.
Set up your workspace
A workspace holds apps and teammates. Most companies need one. Agencies and studios usually create one per client and see them all together on the Portfolio.
- On Set up your workspace, enter a Workspace name, such as your company's name.
- Select Continue.
To add another workspace later, open the workspace switcher at the top of the sidebar and choose New workspace.
Add your first app
An app is one website, web app or mobile app. Each app has its own data, goals and settings, and its own write key for sending events.
- On Add an app, enter an App name, for example "Marketing site" or "iOS app".
- Choose the Platform.
- For a website, you can list Allowed domains, separated by commas. Only those domains and their subdomains can send events. Leave it empty to allow any domain.
- Select Create app.
To add more apps later, select the + next to Apps in the sidebar. If you can't add apps, ask a workspace admin to add one, or to give you permission to add apps. How many apps you can have depends on your plan: see plans and billing.
Install the snippet
After you create the app, Metrickle opens its Settings page with an Install card. Pick your install method (Script tag, npm, React Native, iOS, Android, Flutter or HTTP API) and copy the snippet. Your write key is already filled in.
On the web, the snippet captures pageviews, traffic sources, web vitals, rage clicks and errors on its own. The mobile SDKs capture screens, app opens, rage taps, u-turns and accessibility settings.
For step-by-step instructions for each platform, see Install Metrickle.
Check that data arrives
- Open your site or app and move around a few pages or screens.
- In the sidebar, open your app and select Events.
- The Live events list shows the newest events first and refreshes every 10 seconds. Your visit should appear within seconds.
You can also watch the live count next to the date range at the top of most screens. It shows how many people were active in the last 5 minutes.
If nothing shows up after a minute:
- Check the snippet is on every page, or that the SDK starts when the app opens.
- If you set Allowed domains, check the domain you're testing on is in the list. Events from other domains are ignored.
- Check the date range at the top of the screen includes today.

Add your first goal
Goals tell Metrickle what a conversion is. Until you add one, conversion rate, conversions and lost-conversion estimates stay empty.
- In your app, select Goals.
- Under Add goal, choose a Type: Custom event (such as
signup) or Page visit (such as/thank-you). - Enter the event name or page path, and an optional Display name.
- Select Add goal.
Once events arrive, Suggested from your events lists events you could add with one click. For more on goals, see funnels and goals.
