Find the biggest leak, then see why it leaks
Metrickle turns your signup and checkout flows into funnels that name the step losing the most people, credit every conversion to the campaign that brought it, and show the friction and feedback behind the drop.
Biggest leak: Signup form → Signed up (−56%)
From “signups are down” to the fix in three steps
A walkthrough on acme.com, a demo app with sample data. The same views work on your own apps from the first day of data.
Spot the leak
The funnel ranks every step by drop-off and calls out the worst one, with the median time people spend before moving on.
Find who leaks
Split the same funnel by campaign, device, country or accessibility setting. Campaign filters follow the whole session, so a signup counts for the ad that started it.
See why
Open the friction report for the leaking page, read what people said in a survey on that step, and watch consented replays of sessions that dropped.
Credit every conversion to the campaign that earned it
UTM tags and referrers are read from a session's landing page and apply to everything that happens next. A signup three pages later still counts for the newsletter that brought it.
Compare campaigns by conversion rate and revenue, not just clicks, and run any funnel or task for one campaign at a time.
- utm_source, utm_medium and utm_campaign as breakdowns and filters, plus referrer domains.
- Revenue per event: send a
revenueproperty and it's summed per page, source and campaign. - Carries into your app: links from your marketing site can pass the campaign on, so signups in the product are attributed too.
| Campaign | Visitors | Converted | Rate |
|---|---|---|---|
| spring-launch | 6,210 | 509 | 8.2% |
| newsletter-apr | 2,480 | 181 | 7.3% |
| brand-search | 4,905 | 235 | 4.8% |
| retargeting | 3,120 | 53 | 1.7% |
Retargeting brings visitors, not customers. Its sessions reach the signup form as often as any other, then leave at the password rules.
See the friction on the step that leaks
Rage clicks, dead clicks, error clicks, u-turns, form errors and abandoned forms are captured by the script tag with nothing to tag by hand. Filter them to the leaking page and to sessions that didn't convert, and the cause is usually near the top.
- Ranked by element and page, with the number of sessions affected.
- Field values are never read: a form error is recorded, not what was typed.
- Ask at the moment it happens: trigger a one-question survey on the leaking step and filter the funnel by the answers.
| Element and signal | Sessions |
|---|---|
input#password Form error | 1,284 |
button "Create account" Rage click | 402 |
form#signup Abandoned | 377 |
a "Terms" U-turn | 118 |
The password field fails first. Rules only appear after an error, so people guess, fail, and leave.
Built for the people who own the numbers
Goals
Any event or page as a conversion, with trailing wildcards like /thanks/*. Conversion rate appears on every breakdown.
Funnels
Up to ten ordered steps within a time window, with drop-off, conversion from the previous step and median time between steps.
Friction report
Every rage, dead and error click and every abandoned form, ranked by element and page.
Surveys on the leaking step
One question, shown after the moment it asks about. Answers become filters on funnels and replays.
Accessibility segments
See whether keyboard, zoom or large-text users leak more, and put a number on what the barrier costs.

Common questions
How does Metrickle attribute a conversion to a campaign?
UTM parameters and the referrer are taken from the first page of a session, and every event in that session is credited to them. A signup that happens several pages after landing still counts for the campaign that brought the visitor.
Can I track revenue?
Yes. Send a numeric revenue property on a custom event, for example metrickle.track("purchase", { revenue: 49 }), and revenue is summed per app, page, source and campaign.
What can a funnel step be?
A page path (with a trailing * wildcard) or a custom event name. Funnels take two to ten steps and a time window of up to 90 days, measured from the first step.
My marketing site and product are separate apps. Can I still see which campaign drove a signup?
Yes. Pass the UTM parameters on your sign-up links (the metrickle.com site does this), and the product's first page view records the campaign for that session.
